Magdalene Karon, MD

Magdalene Karon, MD is a graduate of Rice University in Houston, TX with a B.S. in Biology/Biochemistry and a B.A. in Literature, magna cum laude. She attended the University of Texas Medical School- Houston and earned her postgraduate training in OB/GYN at University of Texas Affiliated Hospitals. Dr. Karon is Board Certified in OB/GYN and a Fellow of American College of OB/GYN. She is a member of 11 professional organizations including the American Medical Association, American Urogynecologic Society, Kentucky Medical Association, Fayette County Medical Society and American Fertility Society. Her specialty interests include infertility, microsurgery, laser surgery, hysteroscopic surgery, ultrasonography and advanced laparoscopic surgery.

Dr. Karon is deeply involved with community and charity activities in Lexington, serving on numerous Board of Directors and her passions include classical music and opera, painting, supporting the arts, horseback riding and languages. She served on the Board of the Saint Joseph Foundation and actively participated in its philanthropic initiatives. She has lived and practiced medicine in Lexington since 1984 and is married to surgeon John D. Stewart, II, MD Drs. Karon and Stewart have two children, Magda and John.

Maria Liska, PA-C

Maria is a 2020 graduate of the University of Kentucky Physician Assistant program. She has a background in nutrition and is very passionate about Women’s Health. Maria is our newest addition to the practice as a full-time physician assistant. After expressing a desire to work in Women’s Care upon completion of her OB-GYN rotation, she joined our practice.
